OUR APPROACH

Build up local DNA database

rapidDNA : Standard version combines LIMS  with SQL Database capability. It creates a centralised DNA database for storing DNA profiles of both known individuals and unknown (e.g., crime scene samples). The system enables searching and comparing of DNA profiles per users requirements.

System specifications

  • A software package developed to automate DNA identification process and build up DNA Database
  • Consists of LIMS specially designed to cover the whole DNA analysis workflow using STR markers or similar technology
  • Creates electronic chain of custody
  • Build up a DNA Database for storing DNA profiles that enables searching and comparing of DNA samples
  • Browser-based - Software installed only on a centralised server
  • Users conveniently access the software via the graphical user interface (GUI) in their web browser from authorised client computers
  • Modular system - scalable to fit future needs
  • Fully customisable - applied to local jurisdictions & languages
  • Provides ‘intuitive users interface’ for every step of the work
  • Modular, scalable, secured and fully customisable

Compatibilities

  • STR, Y-STR profiles (Human, Animal, Plant, etc)
  • Mitochondrial DNA profiles
  • Retrotransposon (INNUL) profiles
  • Home brew

rapidDNA can be utilised for both forensic (legal) and non-forensic applications.

Example of forensic applications include:

  • Law enforcement (Crime samples, Missing persons)
  • Immigration (Biological relationships determination for immigration purposes)
  • Private lab (Legal paternity test, Ancestry test, Grand-Parentage test, Sibling DNA test, Animal DNA test)
  • Military (Identification of soldiers lost in the battle, Military DNA “dog tags” – DNA identification for military personnel)
  • Animal/Plant (Forensic plant identification, Forensic animal identification)

Example of non-forensic applications include:

  • Clinical research (Chimerism testing, Repeat Expansion Disorders, Fragile X, MLPA® (Multiplex Ligation‐dependent Probe Amplification), MS/MLPA®, Trisomy Analysis, Haplotype Analysis, Loss of Heterozygosity Analysis (LOH), ARMs & Comparative Analysis (Cystic Fibrosis Analysis), MSI (Microsatellite Instability) Analysis
  • Ecology/Agriculture/Wild life (SNPWave®/SNPlex®, AFLP, t-RFLP, Microsatellite (SSR, STR, VNTR) , Kinship Analysis of Wild Populations and data base, SBE/ SnapShot®, TILLING® & EcoTilling with slabgel or capillary data, MLVA)

Our LIMS is specifically designed to automate DNA analysis workflow. This can be fully customised to fit your requirements.

For animal & plant

rapidDNA : Cloud version (Database-as-a-service - DBaaS) is a private, web-based DNA profiles storage and matching technology. It is designed primarily for animal & plant DNA databases.

Features include:

  • SQL databases.
  • Safe. A dedicated team focused on information security. Data encrypted by default.
  • Pay-per-use. No hardware required. Customers can purchase storage capacity based on their needs.
  • Scalable.
  • Web-based consoles. End user can use to provision and configure database.
  • Match report.
  • Supports STR, Y-STR.
  • Supports manual profile entry as well as profile files upload from common file formats including: CMF (CODIS XML), standard output formats from GeneMapper® and GeneMarker® as well as custom text file formats (.CSV).

Follow up on transplant work

rapidDNA: Transplant version combines the LIMS function with ChimerMarker® automated chimerism analysis software from SoftGenetics®

Information about patients and their donors can be recorded in a specially-designed interface.

ChimerMarker® automated chimerism analysis software integrates speed and accuracy with a biologist-friendly interface. The software can be used to monitor chimerism level in both an allogeneic stem cells transplant (SCT) or a hematopoietic stem cells transplant (HSCT), bone marrow transplant (BMT, post bone marrow engraftment), and cord and peripheral blood stem cells transplant (PBSCT) samples.

Complete Chimerism Detection, Long-term Monitoring, and Quantification in one program!

ChimerMarker software provides:

  • Accurate, rapid genotyping and chimerism analysis with documented time savings of up to 85%
  • Automatically identifies donor and recipient peaks in post-BMT samples
  • Calculates percent chimerism and quality metrics for single donor or double donor cases
  • Easily appends for longitudinal monitoring post-BMT
  • Multi-lineage capabilities for chimerism analysis of T-cells, B-cells, and other cell type populations

ChimerMarker software includes functions for comparison of samples at different time points to conduct longitudinal studies for monitoring each individual and a comprehensive chimerism analysis report. The chimerism analysis performs repetitive calculations (using published methods. Dr. Don Kristt).

ChimerMarker software also has a linked maternal cell contamination (MCC) application. ChimerMarker software is compatible with ABI®PRISM, Applied Biosystems® SeqStudio, and Promega Spectrum Compact CE Systems genetic analyzers, and custom primers or commercially available human identification chemistries for STR genotyping (including Identifiler®, GlobalFiler™ 6-Dye™, PowerPlex®16, PowerPlex®ESI, GenePrint® 24, PowerPlex®Fusion 5 and 6 Dye, Investigator®24Plex). Chimerism analysis is completely integrated to the main analysis screen, removing the error-prone step of data transfer from genotyping software to calculation spread sheets.
